Highway Design

MEA’s engineers offer extensive experience in a range of public and private-sector roadway projects. These include urban and rural highways ranging from state highways, urban arterials, and industrial access roads to local road systems. Projects have varied from near level to rolling to mountainous terrain and have included widening, reconstruction, intersection modifications and new alignments for city, county, and state agencies, as well as private developers and private-public partnerships.

MEA has been chosen by our public and private clients for the design and permitting for numerous roadway improvement projects throughout New Jersey. MEA has also designed numerous new and modified traffic signals to NJDOT and various county specifications. In the past ten years, Menlo Engineering Associates has successfully designed over 22 traffic signals and currently has under design seven new or modified traffic signals throughout the state. Our responsibilities typically include the required surveying, wetland delineation, drainage improvements, construction plans and details, specifications, bid documents, acquisition of all permits, and preparation of parcel acquisition and easement maps. We perform these services for both public and private clients, being aware of the particular requirements that each one has.
