Project Engineering Designer – Highland Park, Middlesex County, NJ

Overview

The Project Engineering Designer is responsible for the design and engineering analysis of various types of retail, commercial, industrial and residential site layouts as well as assisting in the preparation of plans related to various road improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
  • Prepare Grading Plans and Design.
  • Design of Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.
  • Aid in the preparation of traffic related road improvement plans, traffic control plans, traffic signal plans.
  • Project coordination with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application.
  • Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site investigation reports.
  • Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Knowledge of MicroStation a plus.
  • Knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
  • Knowledge of the NJDEP Stormwater Management Rules and Regulations governing Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design for Major Developments.
  • Proficient in design and drafting capabilities.
  • Proficient grading and drainage design skills.
  • Utility design experience including gravity wastewater and potable water.
  • Experience in the preparation of road improvement plans, traffic signal design, traffic control plans a plus.
  • Knowledge of NJDOT road design specifications.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work under a Project Manager or in a team-oriented environment.

The salary range for this position is $75k – $90k. Salary is commensurate with experience and ability. The position offers growth potential with an established, well-respected firm.

Project Manager P.E. – Highland Park, Middlesex County, NJ

Overview:
Mid-size Civil Engineering firm located in central New Jersey seeks qualified and motivated Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) with competency in the preparation of Site and Subdivision Plans, including grading, utilities, stormwater management, soil erosion, zoning, and all phases of land development approvals and permits.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD Land Desktop (experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus) and should demonstrate versatility and fluency with both CAD and Land Development projects. A working knowledge of the rules and regulations governing NJ development, such as NJDEP Stormwater Regulations, BMP Manual, NJRSIS, etc. is a must. Additional requirements include excellent communication skills, the ability to manage staff and oversee complex projects from inception to completion with good control and follow through.
